Responsibilities of the Usher Team Leader
Please note: These job descriptions were composed for medium to large sized outreaches with Impact World Tour. For smaller events not all positions or simplified procedures might be required, please apply common sense in determining the needs for your community.
Responsibilities of Ushers/Stewards Team Leader
- Draw up a timeline for events and deadlines for preparation
- Build the team - by encouraging members to bring interested parties
- Oversee Recruitment and training of Usher/Stewards Coordinators from each church
- Appoint Captains in the following areas: Assignments Captain, Reception Captain, Parking Captain
The responsibility of the Usher/Stewards Team Leader is to recruit and train ushers/stewards for all IWT events. Ushers/Stewards are the first people that guests see and can make the best first impressions. It is important to remember that the IWT Campaign nights will not be like a normal church service, so ushers/stewards must be prepared and have prompt, efficient action. The Usher/Stewards Team Leader is responsible to handle emergencies and make adjustments as necessary to keep things moving.

- Administrative ability
- Ability to recruit and motivate large groups of people
Procedure
Step One: Familiarize yourself with all of the responsibilities of this team, drawing up a timeline for events and deadlines for preparation.
Step Two: Build the team by encouraging members to bring interested or qualified people from their churches and other churches.
Step Three: Oversee the recruitment and training of ushers by the Usher/Stewards Coordinators from each church. You will need to run a training session for the Campaign week. There should be approximately 1 usher for every 50 seats in the auditorium for each event. For example: a 900-seat auditorium will require a minimum of 18 ushers each night. You will also need to have extra, trained ushers/stewards available, as you may have some people who can’t come for various reasons.)
Step Four: Appoint four Captains:
Step Five: Split the members of the team into these three areas to assist the Captains.
