Guidelines for Assigning Host Homes

  • sunlight at homePerformance Team members should be able to feel comfortable and relax in their homes. They may have been on the road for weeks or months and may need to catch up on rest and personal tasks.
  • Please use discretion and high standards in matching families with hosts.
    • House families with families or older singles/couples who are used to children.
    • House single team members in same sex pairs.
    • House couples with families/couples.
    • House singles with other same sex singles or families/couples.
    • Do not place young men in host homes where there is a young woman, single mothers, or stay at home mothers (and vice versa for young women).
  • Be aware of potential problems such as overcrowding, lack of privacy, awkward access to bathrooms, below standard housekeeping or other inappropriate conditions.
  • Note if the home has pets, smokers or other allergen conditions, as many team members suffer from allergies.
  • Be sensitive to any potential situations where a host family may have ministry needs or expect counseling from team members.
  • Attempt to ascertain if the host home would offer the flexibility needed. Performance Team members have a very full schedule. They are often gone most of the time, come in at late hours (often after midnight), and frequently have schedule changes without notice, etc.
  • Ask if the host homes are willing to allow access to laundry facilities, telephone (should only be used with calling cards by team members), simple snacks and beverages. In general we do not allow team members access to personal computers in the host home, but they might be able to access the host homes internet connection with their personal laptops.
  • House the Live Production Crew as close to the venue as possible. It is also very helpful if these team members have more secluded, private housing, as most evenings they will arrive home well after midnight.
  • Please allow them the opportunity to fellowship when their schedule allows, as they have constant expectations on them that may be difficult to fulfill.
Group Facility
A retreat center, dormitory or other group facility with a kitchen, meeting rooms, rehearsal space, and semi private sleeping quarters may work for some teams, and may be ideal for GX, depending on location, availability, etc. Please discuss arranged homes with the IWT Coordinator. GX International can stay in a church IF it has showers, rehearsal and meeting space; a kitchen and mattresses are provided.

Hotels

Hotels may be used for IWT executive staff members or approved guests if they are donated or offered at very discounted rates and allowed in the budget. All proposed hotel costs should be submitted to the IWT Coordinator for budget approval before confirming reservations.
